Olly M Jewellery and Colour Xtreme Hair Art Review!

Tuesday 30 April 2013

I was recently introduced to Olly M Jewellery, a really sweet brand who specialise in friendship jewellery. I'm a self-confessed magpie and I have a bit of a weakness for friendship bracelets, especially if they're crafted from precious metals.

Gold Friendship Bracelet

I literally squee'd with delight when the lovely folks at Olly M asked me if I'd like to review a piece from their collection. I was instantly drawn to the gold friendship bracelet (£79) which features 14k gold rondelles on a chocolate-brown cord. As much as I love affordable jewellery, my favourite pieces are real gold or silver. This bracelet is still fashionable and wearable on a daily basis, but it's a classic piece which I can keep for years to come.

Olly M Jewellery Friendship Bracelet

I think it's important to support smaller, British companies, so I'm hoping Olly M Jewellery will continue to grow. I'm also grateful that this gorgeous bracelet now lives in my jewellery box! Designer Michelle is a sweetheart and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Are you a fan? I love my friendship bracelet and recommend you take a peek at the online store for more yummy bits!

Colour Xtreme Hair Art sprays c/o Colour Xtreme Hair Art and AX Paris

You may have noticed that for once I have a bit of colour in my hair... A few weeks back we were sent some bottles of Colour Xtreme Hair Art (£2.99) spray to play with. I used the purple spray on a single plait and as you an see it even looks noticeable on brunette hair. I've also seen the pink on blonde hair which looks amazing, I had to layer quite a lot of colour to achieve this look but I'm rather happy with it. You can buy the colour sprays online or from Boots, Urban Outfitters or Asda. Just a heads up, when it came to washing it out, I used some leave-in conditioner and now that section of hair is back to normal. Simple.

Do you like my new friendship bracelet? Do you like to experiment with hair colour?

Rawrgirls Review... Paul's Boutique Isla Neon Satchel!

Monday 29 April 2013

Last week Jade blogged about the new leather neon range at Paul's Boutique. The brand has started to re-vamp its image by introducing cool new pieces that are suited to the every day fashionista. We feel its our duty to spread the good news and encourage fellow handbag lovers to take a peek at their new styles!

Paul's Boutique Leather Neon Satchel

One of the biggest trends this SS13 is neon. I love adding subtle pops of neon to my outfit and this Isla raw edge satchel (£50) is just perfect for adding *a little somethin' somethin'* to a casual dress. I know a few of my friends hate how stiff leather satchels look but this bag is leather coated so it's super soft and lightweight.

Isla Raw Edge Neon Satchel

I opted for this yummy neon pink but it also comes with green, blue and yellow accents. I'd happily take one of every style from the new Paul's Boutique range, they've really upped their game and I can't help drooling over the larger satchels as well. NOM.

I spotted these Harlett garter's on Miss KL and now I'm in major covet mode. I'm not even entirely sure that I have the thighs to pull them off but I'd like to try. Hot damn, I may even be tempted to get my lunges on just to be able to rock one of these bad boys . . .

They'd even look pretty hot over tights or some cool nylon leggings of the Black Milk or Lovely Sally variety. This is the type of accessory that can totally change up an everyday look to something a touch more RAWR - garter's for everyone!

Outfit Post and the Lady Boys of Bangkok!

Saturday 27 April 2013

On Tuesday I was invited to the Ladyboys of Bangkok UK Tour which is currently in Bristol. I had no idea what to expect, even though I've travelled to Thailand and already spotted lots of beautiful Lady Boys. Although I wasn't sure what I was letting myself in for, it just sounded like fun and I was game!

I decided to keep my outfit really casual and wore my grey dip-hem dress from River Island with some tights (it was pretty chilly in the evening) and flat studded boots.

Next Blue Flower Statement Necklace

This pretty Blue Flower Necklace was in my Next POTO goody bag. Surprisingly, I don't own many statement necklaces but I love the colour of this one and it's rather affordable at only £10.

Oh what I night! I attended the show with Brownie from Soul Sparkler, and when we arrived we bumped into some other blogging babes including the lovely SJ from Ship-Shape and Bristol Fashion. The evening was filled with dancing, lip-syncing (like the best 90's popstars) and comedy!

Lady Boys of Bangkok

I was blown away by their amazing bodies and gorgeous costumes. My favourite costume was the showgirl outfit which I'm now trying to source for Halloween (I just need to hit the gym first). They performed lots of popular songs ,old and new, my personal favourite being Starships by Nicki Minaj. There were even some original songs which had most of the audience in stitches. Thankfully I wasn't invited to go up on stage (I chose my seat wisely) but there was a fair bit of audience participation which was hilarious!

I have so much love for these Lady Boys, they're all fabulous but 3 of them were unbelievably foxy... I had serious hair envy. The finale was very Angel-esque and throughout the show they wore yummy Victoria's Secret pieces. I now fancy a trip to VS in London for a lingerie spending spree!

The Lady Boys are only in Bristol for one more night so be sure to grab some tickets if you fancy a fun night out.  If you're from elsewhere, you can check their website for up coming tour dates across the country.

Anthropologie Macrame Day Dress and Fashion Targets Friday!

Friday 26 April 2013

I'm loving the perfect maxi dress weather we're experiencing at the moment, long live the sunshine! Last week I attended the Next Press Office Take Over and just before we headed to the party, Kylie (Memoir Mode), Steph (FAIIINT) and I took outfit photos for each other.

I wore my new Macrame Day Dress from Anthropologie which is now my 2nd favourite dress ever (my favourite also being from Anthropologie). It's so comfortable and incredibly soft. I adore the beautiful neck detail and relaxed fit. I wish it came in other colours!

Hat: M&S - Dress: Anthropologie - Belt: Topshop - Belt: Topshop - Boots: Glamorous

All photos by Kylie of Memoir Mode.

If I could wear a maxi dress every day, I would. Today is actually Fashion Targets Friday and since it's been over a week since I wore this outfit (and the sun is shining), I've decided to wear it again for the most fashionable day of the year!

Fashion Targets Friday is all about encouraging the UK’s schools, colleges and universities to support the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign by holding a fashionable fundraising event. Although the official Fashion Targets Friday day is today, it's all about raising money to help beat breast cancer and you can arrange an event for any day. The gorgeous Rosie Fortescue from Made in Chelsea is the celebrity ambassador and the idea is to ditch your uniform and showcase your favourite clothes to raise money! Even if you're not a student, there's no reason why you can't get the office involved.

1 in 8 UK women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, so every penny raised is crucial in order to help beat the disease. Another way you can support Breakthrough Breast Cancer is through buying the specially designed products (which are hella cute) by some of the UK's leading high street brands. At least 30% of the price is donated to the fight against breast cancer.

What are you wearing for Fashion Targets Friday?

Rawrgirls Review . . . Jacava London Nail Polish - Blueberry Muffin!

Thursday 25 April 2013

Now I love nail polish, I have close to 80 bottles of the little guys, but when Jacava London got in touch to see if I wanted to try a bottle of their good stuff, I had to admit that I hadn't heard of the brand, which is a good reason for trying it out really! Here's a little info for you before we get to the colour ;)

Designed in London and made in the UK, Jacava London is a quintessentially British nail polish brand, and is the world's first 8-free nail varnish! It's free from DBP, camphor, formaldehyde, toluene, collophane, parabens, phthalates and animal ingredients, plus they never test on animals. The polish is a premium, high gloss, long-lasting and nourishing formulation which helps your nails stay stronger and grow longer. Ta daaaaa!

Using the Colour Selector I chose yummy purple, Blueberry Muffin - £14.50. It has a really great consistency which makes it easy to apply. It's also really dense and opaque, so 2 coats later and I was good to go with one of the glossiest high shine finishes I've seen without a top coat! I LOVE the colour and got a ton of compliments from friends and colleagues, result!

uk fashion and style blog beauty review of Jacava London nail polish Blueberry Muffin.

I'd go as far as to say that the consistency is better than Illamasqua (a similarly priced polish and one of my faves). I did find that it started to chip after two days BUT I do a lot of typing in my job and I generally find it difficult to find a polish that doesn't start to deteriorate after a day or two, so I'm not going to hold this against it. Overall, I liked this polish and would definitely buy one if another colour took my fancy, so I'd really like to see a wider colour range from Jacava London :)

New Paul's Boutique Neon Leather Satchel! Oh Scarlet, I DO give a damn!

So last year we did a little focus piece on the much awaited reinvention of Paul's Boutique, and sure enough we started to see some more 'grown up' styles from them in the seasons that followed. The much copied padlock bags nudged over a little to make way for sleek, chic, discreetly branded leather styles in trend led colours, and the now mature, original fans of the brand rejoiced! Now we're coming into summer and PB have been quick to set their fans on fire with the brand new Leather Neon range - nude leather satchels, shoppers, purses and phone cases with flashes of neon snakeskin, and we LOVE!

I was lucky enough to be sent the Scarlet Raw Edge Satchel With Neon Pink - £70! As soon as I opened the box I was a smitten kitten. It's just gorgeous! When you consider that other leather satchel brands run their large styles at over £100, these bad boys are kinda bargainous . . .

Outfit : Satchel - c/o Paul's Boutique, Tshirt - Wildfox, Skirt - Tokyo Doll, Boots - Steve Madden.

uk style and fashion blog outfit post and Paul's Boutique neon pink Scarlet satchel review.

The Scarlet is VERY roomy, and houses an inner leather zip pocket (which is cheekily embossed with We Heart Leather!) and plenty of space around it for those easy to reach-ables. The neon pink snakeskin is SUPER bright and is accented with gold hardware which gives it a luxe look. If you're wondering, it has magnetic popper fasteners, so no scrabbling to open your buckles at the tills ;)

uk style and fashion blog outfit post and Paul's Boutique neon pink Scarlet satchel review.

The only touch of branding is on the teeny rivets and the detachable charm, in my case a heart, but from what I can gather from the webby you could also get a bow or anchor. I like how this is in keeping with the original Paul's Boutique bag charms, unless you picked one out from a store, you never knew what patches or charms you'd get! Check out the close up!

uk style and fashion blog outfit post and Paul's Boutique neon pink Scarlet satchel review.

I love this entire range and it's the perfect step into the new season for a new look Paul's Boutique. I can see myself wearing this satchel across my body with a cute tee, denim shorts and boots all summer long, and as long as I keep my hands clean (dirty hands only on command thank you very much!) I think Scarlet and I are going to be very happy!

Check out the new range and more online at www.pauls-boutique.com, we think you'll like what you find :)

OOTD - American Apparel Petticoat and Bertie Cowboy Boots!

Wednesday 24 April 2013

Today's post is a little bit picture heavy because I have so much love for it! I started my hunt for the perfect petticoat back in January and by February I'd managed to locate this awesome petticoat by American Apparel.

Love Umbrellas Pink Heart UmbrellaBrolly: Love Umbrellas - Shirt: Warehouse - Belt: New Look - Skirt: American Apparel - Cowboy boots: Bertie

Unfortunately for me, they decided to discontinue it in this colour (whhhy!?) and by the time I'd discovered it, it had completely sold out in the UK. However they still had a few left in selected stores across the US and with the help of Ally from over the ocean, I ordered one online. Nothing that's worthwhile is ever easy, which is why the first skirt to arrive was covered in white paint... Thankfully the American Apparel customer service in the US is amazing (unlike here where they just ignore you) and my petticoat was quickly exchanged before it could disappear forever!

Steve Madden Fringe Bag
Bracelets: From markets in Australia, Argentina and Peru - Bag: Steve Madden

American Apparel Tutu
American Apparel Petticoat

I've been desperate to wear it since it arrived! It's super soft and a really great length, they do sell a shorter reversible one but call me old fashioned because I prefer skirts to cover my goodies. It's perfect for the western trend which is why I wore it with my Perty cowboy boots from Bertie and a denim shirt.

Would you rock a petticoat? I can't wait to start wearing it with my Wildfox tees/vests. The possibilities are endless!

P.S You may have noticed we've been nominated for 'Best Blogging Duo' in this year's Company Style Blogger Awards! We'd love you forever if you voted for us (we're on page 2).

New Outfit Post - Iron Fist Loose Tooth Romper!

Tuesday 23 April 2013

We're lonnnnnnng time Iron Fist fans, their designs have really evolved over the years but they still stay true to the Iron Fist way which makes their pieces unmistakable, so when we spied the stand at Pure London a few months back we practically dropped and rolled in the rails, oh my gawsh kids, wait until you see the prints and styles for next season!

I recently got my sticky paws on the Loose Tooth Romper - £49.99, a relaxed, thick cotton playsuit with amazing skull motif to the front, and as soon as I saw it online I could see the potential for a really cool outfit.

Outfit : Romper - c/o Iron Fist, Tshirt - George at Asda, Jacket - TK Maxx, Hat - River Island, Midi Ring - Adorning Ava, Boots - Jeffrey Campbell.

I think it looks so awesome and I like the way the trouser legs are tight because it makes it feel a touch girlier. As you can imagine, it's ridiculously comfortable to wear and surprisingly flattering! This is a size L (I'm a UK12-14), and while there's plenty of room in there I think the M would've been that bit too tight, and that's the last thing you want with a playsuit.

uk style and fashion blog iron fist loose tooth romper playsuit jeffrey campbell stripe lita boots cat hat studded jacket

I'm not sure I'd have the minerals to wear it without a jacket but luckily for me, I have the perfect cover up to set it off ;)

With a look so strong I kept the jewellery to a minimum, wearing just one ring, this cute Black Cross Midi Ring - £3 from Adorning Ava. Cute huh?!

I'm trying to wear my stripey Jeffrey Campbell Lita boots more. I tend to favour my cat tapestry ones because they're so comfy but these bad boys are super fierce and deserve to get more outings!

Iron Fist are just killing it lately and I'm loving all the skeleton pieces. You should seriously check out the Spineless Blouse line, IN LOVE with all 3 colours!

Next Press Office Take Over SS13 - #nextPOTO

Monday 22 April 2013

Last Thursday I attended the Next Press Office Take Over in London, we were treated to retro snacks, tunes and the latest SS13 Next collections! I've never been to a Next event so I was extremely excited and by the time I arrived with my blogger pals, the party was in full swing.

We were greeted with a glass of bubbly and given an envelope filled with tags so we could label our favourite pieces. This task proved pretty tough because I liked so much!

Next Denim Shirt
Next SS13 Collection

As a self-confessed denimaholic, I was instantly drawn to the denim. I spotted cute printed jeans, brightly coloured skinnies and some sweet denim jackets/shirts. It's also no secret that I love lace and crochet so I was drooling all over the pretty cream and pale pink dresses!

Next Spring Summer Range
Next Cutwork Maxi Dress

I'm obsessed with pastels and my favourite piece of the night was this cutwork maxi dress (£55). I'm definitely putting it on my holiday wishlist for my trip to Barbados later this year! It's so dreamy. If you're interested in knowing what the most popular items were, you can read all about it on the Next blog.

While we were busy chatting about the new collections and mingling, the awesome DJ pumped out old school tunes including classics by 'N Sync, Britney and the Spice Girls! Uh-mazing.

Mini Milkshake and Macaroons

It also seemed like every 2 minutes the waiters and waitresses were bringing out trays of canapés and delicious drinks. I nearly died of happiness when I started drinking what I thought was a chocolate milkshake only to discover was chocolate and peanut butter! NOM.

No blogger party is complete without a photobooth and I must confess I ended up with 7 photobooth pictures... Whoops! My favourite photobooth moments included dancing in the booth and posing with my favourite blogger babes:

Top UK Fashion BloggersMe, Kylie and Steph dorking out.

I've been reading Kylie's blog Memoir Mode for years and I was so happy to finally meet her! FYI: She's as awesome as expected. I met Steph from FAIINT at the AX Paris event and loved seeing her again, we all just seemed to click and I can't wait for our next meet up! I really do love these girls.

Retro Sweets at #nextPOTOPhoto credit: Next

Before I left I managed to raid the sweet stall and grab a goody bag! My goody bag earned me a few jealous glances on the tube and the sweets provided me with enough energy to survive the train journey home. Yummy.

Next Press Office Take Over Photo credit: Next

Inside the goody bag was a bright statement necklace, white clutch and some sunnies... Just what I need for my holiday this summer! The gorgeous Kylie also snapped some outfit pictures for me so stay tuned for that post coming soon.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to Next for inviting me, I had the best time. Special shout out to all the bloggers I nattered with/posed with in the photobooth. Amy, Emily, Hayley and Laura - you girls rawwwwr.

Festival Jewellery Style With Jon Richard & Mood!

Sunday 21 April 2013

I was just having my usual peruse of Jon Richard's New Arrival's when I spied a new range from the Mood line - Tribal. My first thought was 'Festivals', then 'Tara at Glastonbury!' - they all look so good together, I want to buy her all of them immediately! I popped some of my fave pieces into a set for your visual pleasure . . .

The line is all about feathers, resin, turquoise, arrows, beads, dreamcatchers, wood, and leather, soooo that's most of our fave things to rock on an accessory then! Prices range from £5 for hairclips up to £20 for a fringed necklace. I'm totally sprung on the feather and dreamcatcher earrings, they're ridiculously fierce, especially the set with one long one and one short, though you you might want to remove them if you get into a crushworthy crowd!

Check them out at Jon Richard or at a Debenhams near you!

Sooooooo many pretty things in the new in's this week, I just had to put this wish list together so I had a tight group to focus on! Plus the colours kinda co-ordinate . . .

uk style and fashion blog wishlist featuring Mango, Warehouse, Truffle Shuffle, Paul's Boutique, Red Or Dead boots, River Island beanie, Little Mix Elegant Touch False Nails, denim, cut out boots, Clueless.

Leah Raw Edge Phone Case With Neon Pink - Paul's Boutique £35. That scene in Clueless where balls fly at Ambula's nose? Totally digging Cher's little phone case and this is like, totally what she'd be holding in 2013. D, when your allergies act up, take out your nose ring!

White Paws Sublimation Boyfriend TShirt - Truffle Shuffle £22.99. Duh dun, duh dun, dun dun dun dun dun dun  . . . . Kitteh Jaws is coming for you goggies on this amazing printed tee.

Red Or Dead Helter Skelter Boots - Schuh £85. A nice change up from the blogger's fave Toppers boots. Plus a tassle, and you can never get enough of those.

Black and white striped turn up beanie hat - River Island £8. So simple but so cool.

Denim Stud Dress - Warehouse £48. I just fell in love with this the moment I saw it, perfect for summer with bare legs and white pumps or western boots. Practically timeless - WANT.

Ethnic Print Denim Skirt - Mango £27.99. It;s just so pretty! I have visions of wafting around in this with a crisp white tee and pumps, feeling ever so fresh and girly!

Little Mix Blue Cosmic Perrie False Nails - Elegant Touch at New Look £5.99. Okay, so we're not really Little Mix fans, but they've darn killed it with this Elegant Touch range of falsies and wraps. These are my fave style, too cute!

What do you think of my picks? So now we just need the weather to bed in and put some colour in our cheeks, and on our legs!

J - Wishing.

Goldie London Maxi Skirt at Fuse Fashion!

Friday 19 April 2013

Spring is finally here and I'm celebrating by wearing skirts and dresses with no tights! Today's outfit post features the latest addition to my spring/summer wardrobe, a maxi skirt from Fuse Fashion.

Jacket: HIDE label - Vest: Topshop - Goldie maxi skirt: c/o Fuse Fashion - Bowler hat: M&S - Studded belt: Topshop - Boots: Glamorous

In the past, I've publicly declared my love for maxi dresses but believe it or not, this is my first ever maxi skirt! I developed an obsession for dip-hem skirts last year but could never find a full length skirt I liked until I spotted this Ink Print Maxi Skirt by Goldie (£32) at Fuse Fashion. I adore the print because it reminds me of the gorgeous McQ by Alexander McQueen x-ray print that's so popular this season. It's one size so has an elasticated waist and although it comes with a short slip sewn in, I decided to wear it with one of my nude under slips for more coverage.

Locket: Bjorg x UO - Necklace: Blue Bayer Design NYC - Ring & bracelet c/o Adorning Ava

As soon as I saw it I knew it had to be worn with leather and some super cool jewellery. These necklaces are some of my trusty favourites and my cool little neon cross bangle (£4) and aztec triangle ring (£6) are by Adorning Ava. I think this subtle pop of neon works well with my outfit and I can't wait to swap the boots for sandals in the summer.

Are you a fan of today's outfit?

RawrGirls Review: Nail Art Tattoos!

Thursday 18 April 2013

As much as we love a bit of nail art, we don't always find the time to have an 'art attack' on our painted nails. Nail tattoos are a quick and easy alternative to nail art pens and we were recently sent a few packs to play with.

Nail Art TattoosNail Art Nail Tattoos and polishes c/o Nail Art.

Each pack contains 60 nail stickers and costs £5.99. Application is super easy, once your nails are painted and dry, you simply peel off your chosen sticker and apply it to your nail. Add a top coat and that's it, you're done!

Nail Art TattoosBow Nail Art Stickers.

For my first go I opted for some pretty bow stickers and the out of the blue nail polish (£3). The nail polish has a really great consistency and reminds me of the Primark nail varnishes I love. Unlike Jade, I'm not very good at nail art and I don't have a steady hand. These stickers allow me to join the nail art trend with no fuss. Amazing!

Jade's bird nail tattoos.

Jade is our resident nail art pro and chose to rock cute bird tattoos over a summery orange polish - she always paints her nails so beautifully! They also look really cool when grouped together or on accent nails.

Both the nail polish and nail tattoos are long lasting and the tattoos are really easy to remove. We'd definitely recommend them to anyone who can't quite master nail art/is short on time. We hope they introduce more designs in the future!

You can buy these tattoos via Nail Art's online store or from Boots/Urban Outfitters. Have you used nail tattoos before?

T - We like it quick and easy. XoX

New Outfit Post! Iron Fist Lamby Maxi Dress.

Wednesday 17 April 2013

Yay for slightly warmer weather! Although it's not hot enough for flip flops, it's just about warm enough to rock a maxi dress without getting goosebumps. Last week I received a lovely little package from Iron Fist and inside was this awesome dress:

Black fedora hat
Iron Fist Lamby Maxi Dress

Both Jade & I love Iron Fist and we've been wearing them for years. When we went to the Pure London show in February, we were able to view some swoon worthy pieces from their SS13 and AW13 collections. Most fashionistas know they sell totally badass shoes but they also have a really cool range of clothing. At the moment there are lots of new spring/summer pieces in their online store but my favourite is this Lamby Maxi Dress.

Iron Fist Full Length Dress
Dress: c/o Iron Fist - Fedora: H&M - Necklaces: Bjorg x UO and Low Luv x Erin Wasson - Bracelets: ChloBo, New Look and Topshop - Boots: Glamorous

It comes complete with a cute black belt and I just love the length. It feels really soft to the touch but as it's rather sheer, I opted to wear a cheap under slip underneath (£6 from Primark). I think it looks pretty stylin' with my fedora, boots and accessories. This one is a size small and it's a little roomy on top but has such a comfortable fit.

I can't wait for the summer when I practically live in maxi dresses! Do you like this look? Have you heard of Iron Fist?
