Anyhoo, is it any cop? Ummmm, yeaaaaahhh, for the price I guess! I've been spoilt because I have the Nails Inc Leather Effect polish but that is in a much higher price bracket so let's disregard that and concentrate on the product at hand.
Maybelline say it is a textured formula with mattifying agents and crushed pearls to give that vintage leather look. I don't know if the slightly mottled, dappled effect is the 'Vintage Leather' look or if it's a flaw in the consistency but it continues to show through after 3 coats so I'm guessing it's supposed to be there! There's no texture though, it's totally smooth to the touch when dry. This even finish took 3 coats, but once you get there it's pretty nice! Beware though, it does dry super fast so be quick applying it, this is a 3 stroke job, linger at your peril!
Overall, it's totally worth £2.99, and if you're after a matte finish it's ideal. I don't think anyone can argue with the Color Show polish range, it's spot on for fashion colours and the price point is awesome, especially if you can nab a 3 for 2! Definitely worth a try if you fancy it.
