Festival Fashion: Glastonbury 2013 Report!

Thursday 4 July 2013

I'm hooooooome! Apologies for my absence, I've been partying at Glastonbury and experiencing the post-Glastonbury blues. To make matters worse, my internet stopped working the day I got back. Alas, it's back online and so am I.

If you've never been to Glastonbury, I would 100% recommend it. It was one of my best experiences ever and I'm definitely going again next year! Everyone keeps asking who my favourite act was, the truth is I don't know. The Rolling Stones were absolutely amazing but Natty (Google him) was also incredible. I prefer watching artists on the smaller stages, it's much more intimate.

I decided against taking my DSLR (obvio) so I was only able to take snaps using my an old digital camera and occasionally my phone.

Vest: F21 - Cardigan: River Island - Boyfriend shorts: New Look - Hat: La Redoute - Wellies: c/o Spats

Hello pictures of me with zero/little make up!

This first outfit is typical 'backpacker Tara' with the addition of some ultra cool spats boots (£49.99). Since the weather turned out to be freakin' awesome, I would've melted during the day without these beauts. They come in a variety of colours but I opted for this yummy fuchsia. They have the most delicious silky faux fur lining which is just what I needed as I was on my feet all day long. If you're heading to Glasto, take ankle wellies, long wellies and flip flops.

Dress: Dorothy Perkins - Belt: Topshop - Leggings: Primark - Jacket: c/o Boohoo - Boots: Hunter - Hat: La Redoute

Although the weather was mostly sunny, it did get a little chilly at times so I'm glad I packed this super cool penny biker jacket (now on sale) from Boohoo. Pretty sure I got this dress for less than a tenner last year, and although it's just another strappy skater dress, I love it. It's so comfy! Hunter wellies were everywhere and I love this mint colour. Part of me wished I bought the long Dr. Martens wellingtons because I didn't see anyone wearing them...

Dress: New Look - Kimono: c/o Motel - Hat: La Redoute - Bracelet: Primark

I absolutely adore this blue marble kimono (£48) from Motel! I was Motel's official Glasto reporter and I wrote a blog post for them which should be up shortly. I was given the task of taking festival style snaps and the provided me with stickers and glow sticks to dish out. I was so impressed by the stylish babes on site and in general I felt like a total scruff! I didn't manage to get photos of all of my favourite outfits because some girls were too shy. I guess because I'm a blogger, I'm a natural poser. If a stranger asked to take a photo of my outfit I'd be chuffed and up for it!

I'll definitely be making more of an effort next year when it comes to my outfits. I might take 3 different hats because this one was permanently glued to my head...I didn't wash my hair for 5 days. Ouch. I noticed a whole ton of girls wearing fringed kimonos, dungarees and aztec bags. I think there must have been 10,000 other chicks with the Primark backpack I used. I'm never making that mistake again.

I'm also considering writing a survival guide because I feel like I have all this knowledge I want to pass on! Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in reading.

Have you been to Glastonbury before? Are you heading to any festivals this year?

T - Now thinking about Glastonbury 2014. XoX

  2. I've been thinking about going to glastonbury for a while as its so expensive but I guess its worth saving up for after all the over festivals are catching up in price anyway. Great outfits at festivals all I end up wearing is an oversized T-shirt some denim shorts and my Doc's as I'm to worried about damaging my other clothes.

    1. The ticket is really expensive but we took all our alcohol/a lot of our food so we didn't spend much when there. Definitely worth saving up for considering the large number of music acts there! That's a super stylish outfit. I was worried about the same thing but now I've been I understand it wouldn't happen!

  18. I was also at Glastonbury but I don't think I looked anywhere near as stylish as you, although by the Friday I don't think I was as bothered by how I was looking! I was amazed by how some girls seemed to keep their hair looking absolutely perfect the whole time! I was glad for having my dry shampoo but will take a hat next time (sun burnt scalp - ouch!). I had an awesome time. The Smashing Pumpkins and Portishead were amazing! :)

  20. Taking the small wellies was such a good idea. The ground was too hard to walk around in flip flops or my Toms all day, and it was so hot in full length wellies!

  22. Looks like you had such a fun time! Love those mint Hunters, such a cool colour. I'm really hoping I'm gonna be able to do Glasto with Ollie next year, I'm still down about the fact my bad healths meant I missed all the ones I planned on this year, so next year I will definitely be making up for it! ;)

  24. Loved your outfits - the perfect balance of practical and fun, and those ankle wellies are so cute - perfect for the hot weather we had! I love Glastonbury - this year was number 6 for me - and I get braver with my fashion choices every year. The thing that holds me back is only taking what I'd be prepared to not to come back with - hence why vintage dresses stay at home! x
