Bath in Fashion!

Friday 1 March 2013

Last Sunday I was invited to the Bath in Fashion bloggers preview. We arranged to meet at the Fashion Museum in Bath and upon arrival we were given tea and scones and a chance to mingle with fellow bloggers! As we sipped and nibbled we heard all about what we can expect from Bath in Fashion 2013 and take it from me, it's going to be awesome.

After our mini talk we were set loose to explore the museum's Fifty Fabulous Frocks exhibition. It features lots of gorgeous dresses (50 to be exact) from across the centuries including contemporary dresses that would make any fashionista SWOON. There was even a small section where you could play Victorian dress up and it's probably no surprise that I headed straight for the top hat! The exhibition is there until the end of 2013 and I highly recommend you check it out if you're in the neighbourhood.

Once we'd finished drooling over the fabulous frocks we were split into two groups. My group headed to Little Lab, a pop up shop in Milsom Place where we were told all about the latest makeup technique set to sweep the nation - airbrushing! We received little airbrush hearts on our hands so we could see how the process worked and learned all about exciting US-based cosmetics brand, Temptu.

We then talked about upcoming makeup trends (neons will be huge) and had a little play with some of the other products stocked at Little Lab. I spotted GlamGlow again which I have a sample of, I can't wait to try it and see if it lives up to the hype! After being given a sweet little goodie bag with some lip balm and hand cream, we said our goodbyes and had a browse around some other independent shops in Bath.

Age of Reason scarves

If I could live anywhere in Bath it would be inside Magpie & Bear. They stock some of my favourite brands including Age of Reason, Alice Menter and Daisy Jewellery! It's fashion heaven and I didn't want to leave...

After pretending to spend all of my imaginary money in Magpie & Bear, we headed to Deli @ Jamie's Italian for a complimentary food tasting. My oh my. The deli is stocked with all the tastiest items imaginable, not only is there cake, cheese, meat, wine and bread, there's sauces, cookbooks and all kinds of kitchenware. It's foodie mecca!

rosemary focaccia

I ate a slice of the yummiest cheese ever and I'm still dreaming of the delicious rosemary focaccia. Jamie, you've outdone yourself. For dessert we had a piece of tiffin each but an extra piece accidentally fell into my mouth so I ate that too.

After a fun-filled afternoon we headed to a local bar/restaurant to regroup and have a drink. We were also given goodie bags and a Bath attractions pass - amazing. I've absolutely fallen in love with the city and I can't wait for April! If you want to read more about Bath in Fashion and see what's on, it's all on their website. There will be workshops, exhibitions, master classes and fashion shows. Bring it on.

T - Excited for Bath in Fashion 2013! XoX

  7. What a treat! It all looks and sounds terrific. The top hat is great, the play at the Little Lab sounds like fun, and I think I'd like to own one of those white blouses in the photo of pretty garments from Prey. Magpie & Bear sounds like a lovely shoppe and the taste treats at the deli look yummy. Bath in Fashion 2013 is sounding fabulous.
