Warm This Mutha Earth Up, I Haz New Tights!

You might remember me saying I ordered the Jonathan Aston Hints of Prints Leopard Horses tights from TightsPlease the other week? Well I haven't had a chance to pic them in an outfit yet but I had to show you how cute they are so I took a few quick pics to give you an idea!

They have good opacity which is good because sheer black tights make me run for the hills. I sized up to a B/C because I'm a fussy mare about patterns being stretched and I wanted horses on my legs, not giraffes ;) So I REALLY like them, they have a lot of potential for when the weather warms up a touch, hurrah! How cold is it this week really?! Brrrrr!

J - Dear Mr Aston, please make pink galaxy unicorns on navy tights next. Kthanxbai!

Clashing Prints...

BF and I decided to take a trip to our local waterfront today because I was bored of my brick wall and needed a change of scenery. It was a freezing cold day and the ducks, geese and seagulls were out in force but it was a bit of fun to skip around and check out the amazing view of the Runcorn bridge (which is on the Cathedral City cheese ad!).

I was probably a little overdressed (but then I usually am) in my Rich & Skinny waxed skinny cargos, ASOS leopard leather jacket and spike Lita's but I really wanted to wear the River Island black and white stripey top that Tim had got me for my birthday and this outfit had been in my head all week. I've clashed leopard and monochrome stripes since Gwen Stefani threw stripes and cheetah on the Carlisle clutches from the L.A.M.B. 2007 Luxe season (I have one and cherish it) and it's my fave combination for making a statement :)

The stripey tee is really nice, I saw it online then went to try on in the shop and at first I couldn't find it because it looks so different in real life. It's not a tshirt in my opinion, it's more of a smart top in a crisp silky material. Plus, it has epaulettes on the shoulders and a curved hemline which dips at the front and back, neither of which are clear by the pic online or mentioned in the description. Regardless, I love it and it is well worth the £25!

If you're wondering about my necklace it's a JC/DC Jessie watch. I've taken to wearing him since the strap on my fave L.A.M.B. watch is proving unsteady. A necklace watch is a really carefree way of keeping the time handy!

I loved the place anyway, I think I'll be popping down there a bit more to take pics, but next time we'll take a loaf of bread for the ducks and geese, cuuuuuute!

J is For Jade's New Orange Circle Tee :)

Sooooooo, I recently won a little contest run by cool tshirt crew Orange Circle, entrants had to suggest a new idea for a design and the winning one would be made up and sold on the site - exciting! I've always been a massive fan of anything with my name or initial on it in the Old English font so I offered up the idea of an Old English initial in the OC Leopard or Cosmic prints, and hurrah - I won!

So here it is, my idea in real life - I LOVE IT! It's just how I imagined it! It looks pretty hot with my Rich & Skinny leather look skinny cargos and Jeffrey Campbell Spike Lita's here, but I think it also look really cute with a pleated skirt and tights.

I'm leopard obessed and I also asked for the Men's fit because I like my tees loose and long, but I've turned the sleeves up a touch to make it a teeny bit more feminine. The cotton is really nice and soft and the print is amazing quality, you can't feel the edges at all so no fear of it cracking or peeling.

The full Initial range in the Orange Circle Leopard and Cosmic prints are all priced at just £13.49 each and come in a gajillion different colours, so go see what your letter would look like!

J - Oh na na, what's my name?

Wind Me Up, Spin Me 'Round...Oh Lookie, What I Found!

Most people treat shoes as an accessory to an outfit. Nuh uh, they got it alllll kinds of wrong. I start with the shoe, the perfect 'Oh my god, can't drag my eyes off them, sell my life on Ebay to afford them' pair of shoes. The ones that compel randoms to stop you in the street to say how amazing your shoes are (this happens A LOT), and then I build an outfit around those bad boys because they are the stars.

My favourite stars right now are just politely hanging around on Sarenza, waiting for me to get paid next month so they too can have a world of adoration built around them - the House of Harlow Ava Wedge Boots in Leopard, £120. Check out the spot I made...

Nicole is a style goddess, and we are all over House of Harlow 1960 like a Rawrgirl on RPatz ;)

The Ava's just scream that fierce LA luxe glam-edge look, they roll seamlessly from A/W into S/S as easily as those California gurls roll from beach to bar. As a leopard addict, the print is just purrrrfect to me; big and bold, RAWR. The little gold touches are discreet rather than Dynasty and set the Ava's apart from recent high street copies, whilst the black leather strapping takes the chic wedge boot style up a notch making the whole thing a pretty special look that I must have in my fashion life STAT!

I have similar Iron Fist sequinned booties so I know that I'd adore these with skinnies or shorts, and also, yeaaaah - LBD and a lot of eyeliner anyone?! So totally fierce yet so super chic. Get in my life AVA, let's go! ;)

J - Wannabe Sarenza Ambassador. I'd hit it hard.

Summer B-A-N-A-N-A-S from Ruby Rocks!

Normally, I'm dragged kicking and screaming into summer and even the mention of (dun dun duuuuun!) SUMMER DRESSES fills me with dread but I came across this amazing banana print at Ruby Rocks and I LOVE how they are working those skins on two hot retro casual shapes!

It's difficult to decide between the adorable 80's style Dress (£41) and the super cute Playsuit (£49), I think they'd both be crazy versatile.

So yesssssss, this shit certainly is bananas - I'm actually thinking about summer in January when I'm usually clinging onto leather and faux fur with every dark glossy nail I have! Ruby Rocks, my summer wardrobe salutes you :)

J - Getting everybody fired up.

Leopard Horses Couldn't Drag Me Away...

Have you guys seen these amazing Jonathan Aston tights? From the new season range, these are the Hints Of Prints Leopard Horses(£12.49 - TightsPlease), and I just had to have them!

So I've ordered them and I'm just waiting on delivery now, when they arrive I definitely want to feature them in an outfit post but what shall I team them with?

I'm thinking:
1) Black faux leather shorts and boyfriend tee with boots.
2) Black faux leather pleated skirt, jumper and boots.
3) Leopard shorts, some sort of tee or sheer shirt, and boots.

Any preferences? I'm leaning towards the leopard shorts because I have a crazy pair of cute runner style ones from USA that I haven't even took the label off yet, though it could be a little OTT. Saying that, what are we in this for if we don't try to make it work occasionally?! ;)

J - Giddy up postie!

S/S12 Denim - What We Need Vs What We Can Afford!

Tara and I are denim addicts and we love nothing more than a hot new pair of jeans (it's textworthy news when one of us buys a new pair!), but premium denim is SO expensive that it's obviously impossible to drop £200 on every pair that takes your fancy. Soooooo, the answer is to take the high street version when you see a style that you don't think you'll wear a few seasons down the line. This is a quick breeze through the current MUST HAVE styles right now and their cheaper cousins, because we're not all rolling in cheddar ;)

Pastels are going to be huge this season, especially mint and coral. We adore these amazing coral twills by J Brand, coming in at around £190 from UK stockists like House of Fraser, or $169 from Revolve Clothing. J Brand makes us feel funny, like climbing a rope in gym class or RPattz's Twilight hair.

But we also love the look of these £25.99 ones from Own The Runway!

Personally, I know I would wear this season's animal print of choice - snakeskin, for the rest of my life, so these Hudson Nico's, £220 from The Dressing Room would be a justifiable investment for me.

Buuuuttttt, if you know you will shed them like the real thing after one season, I wouldn't blame you for choosing these SALED £12 ones from Dotty P's!

The neon trend is also crossing over to denim, and fear not, it's not as EMO as you think. I am dying for these AG Stilt's from Matches, £165. Listed as neon lime but they have a cool yellow tint which I covet (the pink is fabulous too btw).

How-ev-errrrr, I will be dropping my dollar on the ASOS version at a much more agreeable to my purse, £32. The colour is very similar to the AG's and I won't hate myself for dying them black in a years time...

And finally, here's a challenge for you. We LOVE these Rag & Bone Galaxy Skinnies with all our little hearts, but alas, they are £150 at ASOS, SOB! I have searched and searched for over a week now and cannot find a cheaper alternative. Short of throwing an old pair in the bath and blasting them with bleach and dye (which I am on the verge of doing to an old pair of much loved Charley's), can anyone provide direction to a ready made, more affordable version?! Look how purty they are!

I'll leave you with that thought ;)

So, new denim - are you going premium or pretend?

J - Galaxy or bust.

Rawrgirls Review - The Balm Stainiac at Findmeagift!

The lovelies at Find Me A Gift thought I might like to try one of their beauty products and sent me The Balm Stainiac - £11.99, a 2 in 1 cheek and lip tint!

The outer box packaging is very girly and cute enough to give as a gift, and for some reason I expected it to be a rollerball applicator but it's a wand which was a nice surprise. Anyhoo I saw the RED liquid and instantly thought 'Oh cripes, another DuWop Twilight Venom.' I bought one of those each for T and I in Twi-hard excitement and it was HELLA dark (like a deep burgundy on my lips), impossible to apply evenly and even more impossible to remove. But no, one tentative sweep of the wand on my lips later and Stainiac took one for Team Tint and proved itself to be an instant hit with me, hurrah!

One coat on my lips made them look like I'd just pressed them together, a flush if you like. The second coat gave a very flattering rose tint and accentuated my natural lipline. At this point I thought oh what the hellz and went for it again, the third coat just evened out the second coat and left a really natural looking matte pink stain to my lips (which are naturally quite pale).

The swatch below is two coats. It dries really fast but evenly, and doesn't seem to creep into any creases. It doesn't feel sticky or wet to the touch, so it would be ideal to use as a base tint before clear gloss. I haven't tried it on my cheeks, simply because I never use liquid tints on my cheeks for fear of a breakout, but I suspect the result would be the same if you gave it a go.

Overall, fine holiday fun, totally recommended if you're up for trying something new from somewhere new. As Findmeagift says in their blurb for this product, 'She's a Stainiac, Staaainiac on the floor, and she's tinting like she's never done before...'. AWESOME :)

J - Rose Tinted.

*Birthday* Rawr Girl in Australia!

SO, Thursday was my BIRTHDAY! I was [undisclosed] years old & to celebrate, my Boyfriend & I went to the trendy Glebe Point Road in Sydney:

We're currently living in Glebe so it was literally a 2 minute walk around the corner - the restaurants and eateries here are amazing. As I was in a Mexican mood, I chose Baja Cantina.

I went for the Chicken Fajitas (shock, my FAV meal) and they were absolutely nom-tastic!!

What I wore:

I donned my silk Warehouse dress, trusty Matalan Tassle bag, my Xmas day stack & my awesome Sportsgirl earrings! You can't really see the earrings properly but one is a long feather earring, the other a gold skull. Like these but gold & without the beads:

LOVE.

I was given tons of cute presents (THANKS PALS), including an amazing French Connection bracelet from J that I will be blogging about in the near future. I'm just so spoilt.

T - Officially one year older! XoX

Busting Out Of The GLOSSYBOX And Into My Life...

The unveiling and reviews of the monthly Glossybox has become a regular blogger event for a lot of us, and after receiving a few GB's myself now I thought I'd take stock and look into the items that the scheme has introduced me to that I have either purchased, plan to purchase and/or have recommended to others, in a 'what has Glossybox taught me' kind of way :)

The first item that springs to mind as a fave is the HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette from September.

Worth a whopping £19.95, I have used this every day since I opened my first Glossybox and I wouldn't be without it now. I used to use pencils on my black brows but I will NEVER go back to them! I received the Foxy colourway which is mid range for brunettes, but I would probably re-purchase in Vamp next time. I actually purchased Vamp for a brow crazy friend as a gift, we both have similar colourings and I covet it every time I see her!

Also from the September box came the L'Oreal Mythic Oil, priced around £11.95.

I was super impressed with this product and would definitely buy it again once the generous full size bottle runs out. I also purchased a bottle as a gift for a friend who regularly uses products like Moroccanoil on her barnet. I think it makes an acceptable and cheaper alternative that I probably wouldn't have tried if it wasn't in my Glossybox.

The October box introduced me to Dermalogica AGE Smart Renewal Lip Complex just as the cold snap was setting in.

It was just a sample size but I'm hooked. My lips have never felt so good so I guess it's time to throw out all the candy coloured fruit flavoured balms and grow up! At £22.50, a full size isn't cheap but definitely in my future (the sample is STILL going!). Investment doesn't even cover it.

Another fave from October was the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in a very flattering moss green colour called MORAY, and worth £13.

You see, not only do you get to try products you might not normally go for, but you also get colours you might overlook in favour of the more obvious. I discovered that this green looks better on my brown eyes than brown does, as a more natural alternative to my usual black. Also, twist up mechanism eyeliners are my fave, make them waterproof and I'm there with bells on. This one ticked every box for me and I'd definitely buy it in another colour. Fine holiday fun.

November took me back to basics with a surprise front runner, the Dead Sea Spa Magik Dead Sea Bath Salts, around £5.50 for 1kg!

One word - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... I'm going to be honest and say that I have never used bath salts, ever (despite being partial to a Lush Bath Bomb fizzing away occasionally), but thanks to Glossybox I have discovered a new way to relax in the tub. Oh, and they make your skin glow too - BONUS!

November's Glossybox also gifted me my fave pack of Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps - black and white stripes!

I was meaning to pick this style up for ages so I literally squeee'd when I opened November's GB, coincidence or the holy work of our lord RPattz? Regardless, at £6.65 a pack, Nail Rock are a must try treat. My friends love them, especially when I took my collection into work on the last day before christmas and we all rocked out! :)

December's box was a total gift! All dressed in red, tied up in a bow, and carrying an AMAZING haul so it's hard to pick favourites but here we go...

I was definitely feeling festive when I pulled out the Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle Mini Nail Polish, a raspberry glitter perfect for the party season.

Deborah Lippmann isn't a brand I had tried before but I loved the depth of colour and quickly found myself googling away looking at the other colours in the range. Must. Refrain. Self.

The Rituals Foaming Shower Gel (Full Size) in Hammam Delight at £6.50, is a new experience I will definitely be trying again.

I have tried Rituals cosmetics before but never their body range and it's actually really yummy, and well priced. The foam itself feels rich with an invigorating scent. The Hammam fragrance is made up of ginger and eucalyptus, the perfect choice for me because I LOVE spicy bath and shower products and I see they also sell a Hammam candle, so that's on my birthday list. Now scent layering can go one step further than just bath/shower, lotion and perfume! ;)

And finally, my new best friend, a full size Nip + Fab Spot Fix, £9.95. Seriously, little buddy, where have you been all my life?

I marvel at this little tube's ability to makeover my skin. I've always suffered with spot breakouts, even now in my 30's, and have tried all sorts of lotions and potions to curb and conceal, but a dab of this and even the meanest spot is giving up overnight! Cur-freaking-azy, I do not lie. It dulls redness, mattifies and generally gives me an acceptable no make-up face before bedtime. Wonder product, and I have Glossybox to thank for setting us up!

And so far, so good. If you are a beauty product lover, enjoy a surprise and trying new things, and you have a spare £12.95 a month, I think you get a great selection of high quality products (that are often full size) to warrant the subscription. Yes, some of them are more miss than hit (I find the perfume and expensive RRP eye cream samples to be a bit of a disappointment for example) but you can see from my faves from the last 4 boxes that you are more than likely to find some new friends that you soon won't be able to live without, though whether this is good for your wallet is another matter! I would not normally find myself purchasing a £22 lipbalm for example, but what the hellz, we all deserve a treat every now and again, and at least I know it works for me.

What have been your fave Glossybox products so far?

J - My postman hates me.

Christmas Day & New Year's Eve DOWN UNDER!

G'Day Rawrers!! Now us Rawr Girl's have finally recovered from the festive season, I thought I'd share some pictures from my time in The Land Down Under over the holidays! It was my first Christmas away from my family (SOB) & my first in the sun.

Check out this action shot of me cooking up a storm on the Barbie! It was a scorching hot day in Sydney & there wasn't a turkey in sight.

The outfit:

I ditched my traditional Christmas Day outfit (delicious dress, thick tights & tons of bling) for this simple, laid-back & Oz appropriate ensemble.

Wildfox - Love Mega Babe Tank (as seen on Beyoncé)
Hudson - Ripped Jean Shorts (comfiest shorts in the WORLD)
Urban Outfitters - Feather Belt (thank you @Browniekins!)

My simple stack contains 2 bracelets from the Cairns Markets (yes, that's embossed leo print) and a gorgeous Dogeared Make A Wish bracelet with Gold Dipped Elephant from J Pops! I'm actually in love with this, it's just perfect for travelling.

Even though I was miles from home, I was still showered with lot of gifts & money (thank you everyone). I will be snapping pictures of all my goodies as I wear them over the next few months (BlackMilk anyone!?), but I couldn't resist showing you these 4 pieces of finger candy:

You LOVE, right!?

The gorgeous Stag ring is from J Bug (again) & I SQUEE'd when I opened it!! The others are all from an amazing store here called Lovisa. It's basically the Oz Accessorize but a million times cooler. Yeah.

New Year's Eve was absolutely incredible. Again it was a total scorcher (hate away) and again it was completely different to how I usually spend my NYE. I normally get dolled up or attend a fancy dress party, but this year we got up early, packed a picnic & headed to Sydney Harbour!

We found a spot in the Botanic Gardens and waited. ALL DAY:

Luckily only 6,000 people were let in this area, so we had a little bit of room to relax & get ready for the big display!! The waiting was completely worth it and so was the $6.5 million they spent for 12 minutes- hahaha.

We had a fantastic view of the bridge & I was on a total 'Firework High' for hours after!

The 2011 holiday season has been different & I've had a lot of fun in the sun here, however part of me is looking forward to the 2012 one back home in Little Blighty.

This year it's all about SpiritHoods at Christmas & Fireworks in London. PAWS UP! T XoX

Getting A Wildfox Wildfix From AdHoc London!

I'd be lying if I said it had been a while since I bought any Wildfox, it hasn't, but there's no greater Wildfox wildfix (as Tara and I call it) then finding a bit of WF you've coveted for a whole season - ON SALE!

This Extinct Is Forever dress has been on my radar for what seems like a lifetime, but ever so slightly out of reach at close to £100, sometimes more depending on where you shop. The Cheetah is my fave big cat and I still want to be Cheetara Thundercat even now (if I ever get a tattoo it will be cheetah spots up my thigh) so the motif on this piece struck a chord.

So when I saw AdHoc London throw out a sale notice I freaked out because I knew they had my must have dress! Unfortunately they only had it in an XS but I tweeted them with my sad face dilemma and by the hair of RPattz they only went and found a M in the EVEN BETTER khaki tie-dye version in the back room - HAPPY FACE!! Here it is!...

With the 30% off code WILD, it came to a much more agreeable £68 shipped (if you live close enough to actually shop IN AdHoc, I'm hating on you), delivery was next day and I LOVE it. It's a baggy beach sweater style, like a super soft stretch towelling fleece type material and also looks pretty darn good over skinnies. Definitely a piece for life.

I stalk AdHoc London practically every day because their lines are amazing and their prices before sale are usually cheaper than most other stockists. They also stock that other RAWR fave, SpiritHoods, which are also now saled with 20% off using code SPIRIT, so it's an ideal time to indulge your inner animal! Night Owl, get on my head!!

Anybody else got any awesome sale finds?

J - Let's make sure extinction is made extinct :(
