De-pot And Refill With A UNII Palette!

Monday 8 October 2012

Tara and I are currently obsessed with de-potting into our UNII Cosmetics palettes! The UNII palette magnetically stores multiple brands of individual makeup pans, so all those refills you see for sale by MAC, E.L.F., Stila etc (usually cheaper than the compacted version?) can now be snapped up and stored in one handy, safe and totally transportable place!

A UNII palette costs £15 for 1, but the price gets lower if you buy more, so why not team up with a friend and treat yourselves? Here's how we made a start with ours!

I tend to buy a lot of multiple eyeshadow compacts, but there's always 2 or 3 colours that you love but are not for every day like the others might be, so you end up with a huge case holding just those last few pans because you don't want to throw them away?! Well I took those and had a good old 'de-potting' sesh (explained by UNII in the link) so they could all sit happily together in my magnetic palette :) This is just the start of what I'm calling my 'Sleeping Giants' palette. You can see that these Urban Decay and Stargazer pans popped out perfectly without any mess or damage to the contents at all!

Tara has been busy creating a seasonal look in her palette, complete with eyeshadows and blusher, and I'm sure there will be a lipstick in there as soon as she finds one to de-pot! A UNII palette is the ideal place to keep co-ordinating products together because they can be changed with the trends and also carried in your handbag ready for new additions when you're out shopping. No mess or fuss!

These are literally hours of fun for make-up obsessives like us. They'd also make a cute gift. The cases are very sturdy and well made (my boyfriend actually thought my black one was a tiny notebook/tablet when he first saw it!), the mirror is large and clear and the magnetic pieces are super strong, nothing is escaping into your handbag here! Definitely recommended over here :)

  1. I've been desperate some magnetic palettes but just don't have the spare cash. It would save me soooo much space and weight in my makeup kit which is currently SO heavy haha.

When I eventually can afford to get some I'll definately post about them.

I love how you two are organising yours :)

  2. Tell me about it. I have so many half used palettes that I still insist on holding together, it's daft, so this was a bit of a revelation to me! Pop them out, pop them in, etc voila! Genius lol
