CHECK THIS BAD BOY OUT?! This amazing InPirateWeTrust 'Jungle' bangle in brass, retailing at $65, could be YOURS if you enter our giveaway!

The hot New York brand was created in AW10 by brand founder and designer Joi French with the intention to carve out and fill the niche of exclusive wearable art at accessible pricing. The brand name, at once shocking and sweet, is a nod to the 'Punk Femme' aesthetic of mixing delicate elements with chunky and sharp hardware that the artist is known for. Self-taught, the designs are made by hand right in New York City, with each season referencing pop culture, music, both modern and pop art, and architecture. The new AW11 line is influenced by the 70’s glam rock culture with refs to David Bowie, Iggy Pop and New York’s street punk subculture.

So how do you enter? This one's eaaaaaasy and mainly via Twitter...

You must follow both of us - @TheStyleRawr and @InPirateWeTrust on Twitter (clicky through to open new windows) and tweet the hashtag #PirateStyleRawr to us both, any way you want, any time you want!

For a second entry, follow InPirateWeTrust on Facebook and tell them we sent you on their wall! This entry will only count if you complete the Twitter entry.

The contest is open worldwide and will run September 1st to September 8th, with the winner to be announced September 12th :)

In the meantime, if you fancy a bit of a splurge, why not use our 20% off discount code RAWR in the InPirateWeTrust online store to get yourself something pretty?!

Good luck Pirates!

New Jewelz - Star by Julien Macdonald x Jon Richard x Debenhams.

How gorgeous is this matching ring and earrings set from Star by Julien Macdonald at Debenhams? Black leather twisted into gold and accentuated with large diamantes. The styling reminds me of the decadent, statement jewellery from the 80's. Powerful pieces in gold and leather, as worn by my mum with a red and black jumpsuit. I so should've subbed my orange and black shattered nails for a glossy red!

Woven Black Diamante Stretch Ring, £12.
Black & Gold Woven Diamante Hoop Earrings, £15.

The new AW11 Star by Julien Macdonald range is touched by Dynasty-esque glamour, definitely worth a look for the party season (can you believe we're talking about the party season already?!) - I'm imagining velvet dresses, leather trousers with oversized clutch bags.

J - Joan and Jackie's little sister in another life.

Celeb Inspired Orange Nails - China Glaze Papaya Punch.

Sunday 28 August 2011

Celebs have been rocking orange nails in their droves this summer, and Solange Knowles seems to permanently have the juicy colour on her nails in some shade or another, but my fave is still the tangerine shade in these pics from a Range Rover party in May. Her nails accentuated her gorgeous skin and popped off her stunning white dress and gold jewelz, what an amazing colour choice.

Anyhoo, I've finally found a similar shade (a lot of orange polish out there is spicy hot or super bright neon as opposed to a warm, yellow orange) but China Glaze Papaya Punch, from the Island Escape collection is perfect!

I LOVE this polish, China Glaze has been a fave brand for a while but this shade goes on like a dream. This is 2 coats and no top coat but see how dense and shiny it is? I've had so many compliments whilst wearing it over the last week or so, the future is definitely Papaya Punch orange!

If you haven't tried China Glaze before, you need to - the colour choice and quality is amazing and it's really affordable at £6.49 a bottle, take a peek HERE! As a recommendation, if you're a fan of crackle/shatter polish then CG's Crushed Candy baby blue is a must have. I love all of their crackle colours but the baby blue is really unique. What's your favourite?

J - Kind of obsessed with nails right now!

Shopbop Key Looks x Mixed Media Leather x Charley 5.0 Blazer!

A Shopbop 'Key Runway Look' email dropped into my inbox this morning - Mixed Media Leather/Contrast Jackets, and as I was persusing the yummy pieces on offer I had a flash of brilliance.

Hold up, don't I already have something from last year that fits this bill?! I do indeed - the Charley 5.0 Unchain My Heart Jacket - a denim blazer with faux leather shoulder patches and chain detail - hurrah!

I'm excited to try this jacket with the H&M faux leather trousers I've ordered. Just a touch of leather for autumn while it's still warm-ish, and the chains (usually reserved for accessories) will dress it up enabling me to keep the jewelz to a minimum to avoid looking more like a Hell's Angel than a Charley's Angel ;)

J - Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Tiger Lily Jewellery!

I first discovered Tiger Lily Jewellery almost a year ago and it was love at first sight. The collection is designed by native Californian and Malibu resident, Heather Gardner.

Her pieces are absolutely beautiful, she is just sooo talented and Tiger Lily oozes cali style. Recently I was lucky enough to finally get my paws on two of her pieces (Eeeeek!!).

I had been lusting after the Boho Tusk Necklace ($220 -32") for a whole year. My style crush Vanessa Hudgens has it so I just had to have it too!! It was definitely worth the wait. Amazing.

I also decided to get this stunning Turquoise Slice Necklace ($240). The chain is gold-plated & the stone is completely natural and gold-filled.

These are definitely investment pieces, but I know I'll wear them forever. My Tiger Lily jewelz will be a wardrobe staple for years to come :)

Nail Rock x Jeans For Genes 2011 Denim Nail Wraps - J's AW11 Denim-icure!

Wednesday 24 August 2011

Everyone's fave dress down day is coming up, Jeans For Genes Day 2011 is 7th October, so inspired by the pack of special Nail Rock Jeans For Genes nail wraps I ordered from ASOS (£6.70), with £1 from every pack going to the charity, I gave my nails a full denim-icure using some polishes from my collection!

Thumb: Mavala 'Black Oyster', then from L-R: Topshop 'Airplane', Nail Rock Jeans For Genes 'Cheetah' nail wrap, Mavala 'Berlin' and Mavala 'Paradise Blue'.

Clutching my fave Charley 5.0 Quick As A Cat leopard print denim shorts to compare the denim-ness!

I am LOVING this look, and what an amazing idea from Nail Rock and Jeans For Genes to raise even more awareness of an already very fashionable charity day, especially since denim coloured nails are going to be huge in AW11 with Chanel releasing Blue Rebel, Coco Blue and Blue Boy early September - these wraps are definitely going to catch our attention!

I think I've proved that you don't have to spend Chanel money to get this look though because there are already so many cool blues out there you can use, and I only used 2 of the 24 nail wraps in the pack, so there will be many more denim-icures to come for me this season hurrah!

I got Denim Cheetah (because I'm animal print obsessive) but the more traditional denimista's out there, you can choose from Denim Stitch and Denim Zip :)

Do you have any plans for Jeans For Genes Day 2011?

Outfit Post: Luscious Lace LOVE.

Tuesday 23 August 2011

As mentioned in Tuesday's trend post last week, lace is going to be a big wardrobe must-have for AW11! I absolutely LOVE lace & I think every girl needs a LLBD (Little Lace Black Dress) in her wardrobe.

Here are some pics of me rockin' my favourite LLBD:

I love taking photos in the woods because the light is so good. I'd say the overall look is pretty Rawr Girl Gothic Romance!! ;)

The dress I'm wearing is from ASOS but I bought it a while back so it's no longer in stock. However, if you like it there's a really similar dress by Warehouse for £55!

Dress- ASOS, Gloves- Primark, Cross Pendant- Topshop, Necklace- Thrifted.

So what do you Rawrers think of this lace LOOK? ;) Do you have a LLBD that you adore!? I'd love to hear your comments!

Shoe Lust - Cat Tapestry Lita's.

Jeffrey Campbell Lita's are a headache in RawrVille. We want them BADLY, but they aren't the cheapest footwear to lust over in bulk, so you have to make the right decision on which covetable style to invest in right? Well I haven't been able to commit yet (though T seems pretty stuck on the studded ones right now!), but I think I may have found mine now.

Cats. Look at me but not because I'm bossy-esque pattern. Fits perfectly into my current wardrobe-ability. Umm, did I mention Cats?...

I spy these on Envi Shoes, $158.95, and I pretty much need. Oh Jeffrey, why you gotta play a girl like this?!

REVIEW: Gorilla Perfume at LUSH!

This week we've been testing out Lush's exclusive Gorilla Perfumes! We've had our paws on the following 8 different scents, and we just LOVE the way Lush bio each one, they're like snippets of poetry!...

Icon - If this perfume was a man, he'd be a troubled literary genius dressed in crushed purple velvet. If it were a drink, it'd be the underground choice du jour for poetry appreciation groups. Churchy myrrh and intoxicating orange blossom absolute form hypnotic combinations in this impossible-to-forget fragrance.
RAWR SAYS - Definitely one for your man; spicy, warm and yummy. Nuzzle in.

Love - Inspired by young, sweet and flirty love and the heartache that can sour it. Tempting apples and spice will remind you of everything nice about the exhilaration of romance.
RAWR SAYS - Mmmmm, sweet. The type of scent you want permanently inside your nostrils so everything smells like this!

1000 Kisses Deep - An exquisite and delicate apricot-note from osmanthus blossoms, combined with a touch of citrus and deep resins, expresses the complexities of true love. It encompasses the whole spectrum of feelings, the powerful rush of emotion, and conveys the abstract. Mark created 1,000 Kisses Deep in honour of the lasting love he shares with his wife.
RAWR SAYS - A light but memorable scent, the citrus notes are really promininent, which we likey.

The Smell of Weather Turning - The fragrance plays a trick of staging a thunderstorm in reverse. It opens with the fresh feeling of rain on greenery after the clouds have passed and develops a darker, smokier character as it warms on your skin. In the final stages, the smell of sweet hay and woods comes through. It feels like walking on sun-baked fields and through an ancient, summery forest.
RAWR SAYS - This one is too interesting to NOT like! It's like a summer walk in a forest. We imagine it would be appreciated more in the winter when you need a greenery fix.

Cocktail - An homage to classic French perfumery, achieved using large quantities of natural materials. The leading lady in this scent is ylang-ylang. Cocktail is preparing to go out for the evening with a chic drink in hand. It's the perfect companion after dark.
RAWR SAYS - Yesssss, a classic evening scent. Secsi secsi.

B Scent - A stylish and utterly feminine combination of rose tempered with crisp citrus. This is Mark’s daydream of what young French girls smell like.
RAWR SAYS - Again, a light but feminine scent, ideal for daytime and making an impression on the person sitting behind you on the bus ;)

Ladyboy - Ladyboy is unisex, daring and adorable. This fragrance was designed for bare skin. Its quirky and sexy amber scent was originally sketched out in honour of Brazilian beaches and their uninhibited inhabitants. Anyone with an eye for contemporary style and cheeky fun should grab it.
RAWR SAYS - We love this, it reminds us of sunkissed skin and ethnic markets in a foreign land. Gorgeous.

Superworld Unknown - Candyfloss and sparkling bubbles. If you feel down and need clarity, follow singer Karin Park's advice and enter the Superworldunknown. It's a panoramic world of possibility. Its impish combination of citrus notes and chocolate is like a surrealist dream of running away to the circus and escaping ties.
RAWR SAYS - Like pushing all the sweet jars over in a candy shop and stopping to drop and roll. We immediately smell sherbet lemons, and it just gets better from there!

Our faves are Superworldunknown, Ladyboy, 1000 Kisses Deep and Love! Though it's really too hard to pick! They are definitely unique scents, very powerful and long lasting too :) You can buy the above 8 perfumes online at www.gorillaperfume.com & in select stores.

If unlike us you can't pick a favourite, you could always treat yourself to the Gorilla Perfume Miniatures Set (£19.95), which is made up of 8 samples. With this set you could pick a favourite to buy in full size, or just change your scent on a daily basis! ;)

P.S. We've been informed by our top secret* Lush insider (Ericaaaaa!), that the Edinburgh store is hosting an exclusive Gorilla Perfume launch party on Thursday 25th August! Get all the deets on their Facebook page so get liking!

Swing by the Princes Street store between 8-10pm for perfume infused cocktails & bespoke h'or d'heurves inspired by Gorilla Perfume!

J & T - Smelling gert LUSH! ;) XoX

AW11 Week - And the Child Who is Born on the Sabbath Day is Rocking the FETISH and Out To Play!

Sunday 21 August 2011

Every day this week we have been reminding you of an upcoming AW11 trend!

We've saved the best for last because the final trend is 'And the Child Who is Born on the Sabbath Day is Rocking the FETISH and Out To Play!' - we love a bit of leather, straps and underwear as outerwear so this is our fave!

The standout show for this trend for us was Thierry Mugler at PFW. Gaga, Formichetti and fetish - OH MY!

Wet look, sheer chiffon/mesh and on show lingerie were running themes through the collection.

I'm sure we've all noticed it filter through to the high street with sheer blouses in every store, but to really get the runway look a girl has to flash a bit of bra under her shirt, so it has to be a hot one! We love this KITTY Wet Look Lace Mix Longline Bra, £22 from ASOS because it has that extra wet look sauce ;)

We also spotted these amazing Black Wet Look Socks, £8 at River Island, which would be a nice nod to the trend if you didn't want to talc up and wriggle into a pvc skirt or wet look leggings!

We're thinking they'd look great with shorts and boots, they'd also compliment and funk up another AW11 trend - heritage tweeds and tartan.

We also ADORED Gareth Pugh, with models strutting down the runway looking like The Matrix's Neo on S&M night (and this is a good thing trust us!) - lots of black leather and draping - yum! We love this dress, it even has a touch of gothic in there with the cross!

So, obviously, as the high street masters of said leather and draping, All Saints are going to nail this one, we LOVE the Ayame dress, £135, a look we could all pull off without getting in too much trubz ;)

This trend is definitely our fave and we're not afraid to get our fetish on in the name of fashion, but for those who find it a bit out there, there are so many other ways to rock it this season so there's really no excuse not to get even a tiny part of your inner dominatrix out ;)

So that's it, AW11 trend reminder week is over, it's going to be a good one ladies...

J & T - We'll be your mistresses tonight...

AW11 Week - Saturday's Child Works Hard To Get Feathering!

Saturday 20 August 2011

Every day this week we will be reminding you of an upcoming AW11 trend!

Today's trend is 'Saturday's Child Works Hard To Get Feathering!' - We're absolutely obsessed with feathers. We want them in our hair, on our jewels and just pretty much all over us. We nearly melted when we spotted this incredible ombre dress (with ostrich feathers) at LFW... Matthew Williamson is such a tease:

As we don't have a few K (££££) to spare for the perfect feather dress, this AW we'll be dripping head to toe in everything feathery from Regal Rose.

Our #1 feather must-have is this gorgeous Muna Dream Catcher Necklace (£14). It's perfect for adding a sprinkle of 'boho cool' to any outfit.

We'll also be wearing this super fly Gabriel Ear Cuff (£15) well into the colder months. Check out J's previous post if you want to see how awesome it looks on! ;)

Would you call yourself a Saturday's Child!? Are you feather obsessed like us? If feathers aren't your thing, check back tomorrow for the last AW trend of the week!

AW11 Trend Week - Friday's Child is Loving Some ORANGE...

Friday 19 August 2011

Every day this week we will be reminding you of an upcoming AW11 trend!

Today's predicted AW11 trend is - Friday's Child is Loving Some ORANGE...Yep, it seems the hottest way to brighten up a wintery day is with a flash of this juiciest of colours! House of Holland and Matthew Williamson (seen below) sent both tangerine and hot, fiery orange down the AW11 runways, proving it can definitely cut it in the chillier seasons too.

Grab the Matthew Williamson look for less dollar with this super cute Dorothy Perkins Orange Ponte Mini Skirt, £19.50. It also covers the cool Mod trend so you're killing 2 trends with one bargainous piece!

If that's too much, how about a cute tangerine belt to wrap around a tweed ladylike skirt? Loving this one from Topshop, £14.

So, are you a Friday's child, or will you call half time on orange this season? Personally, I love it! 2 more days to go - whoop whoop!

J - TANGOED!
