Simply Beach= Super Stylish Swimwear!

In September, I'm ditching the UK & embarking on a little adventure for a year! I plan to travel the globe (well some of it) with nothing more than a backpack full of ESSENTIAL fashion pieces.

As I'm aiming to spend approximately 80% of my time on a beach (a-hem), I've been scouring the interwebs for this season's hawtest swimwear! I completely lucked out by finding an online store with the most amazing selection of swimwear...Introducing Simply Beach!

Simply Beach stocks designer beachwear and accessories from top swimwear designers such as Seafolly, Phax & Melissa Odabash! Aussie brand Seafolly has always been a favourite of mine, check out some of their delicious pieces:

Shimmer Frill Front Maillot in Envy- £74.

How yummy is this colour!? Loving the frill detail.

Shimmer Slide Tri in Vivid Violet- £35.
Shimmer Mini Hipster in Vivid Violet- £30.

Another fab colour! The slight ruffles are what gives it that special Seafolly edge.

Goddess Bandeau in Cinder- £54.
Goddess Tie Side Pant in Cinder- £35.

HAWT! This fabulously twisted style also comes in other colours too. WANT.

Seafolly also have a great range of accessories, I've been looking for the 'perfect hat' to take with me for a while, but when I spotted this one I knew it was the one:

Shady Lady Lizzy Hat in Natural- £22.50.

The only problem with Simply Beach is that there are too many gorgeous pieces,I kind of want one of everything!? Whoops. More designer pieces for you to feast your eyes on:

Phax

Sunset in Bali Bandeau Bikini- £76.50.

I want this bikini & the matching hair. How gorgeous does the model look!? I’d personally use the optional halter strap (I don’t want any accidents while frolicking in the sea! ;).

Aguaclara

Safari Bandeau Top- £64.50
Safari Side Tie Pant- £48.

This bikini is signature Rawr Girls style! We adore the gold metallic detailing with green beading. A definite head turner.

Panache

Lucille Bandeau Bikini Top- £30.
Lucille Classic Pant- £16.

It's at times like these when I wish I was at least a D cup! One for all you lucky curvy Rawrers, deliciously nautical with adorable button detailing. Comes with Removable straps too.

Sie Lei Mare
Sailor Bandeau Bikini- £37.50.

My boyfriend was instantly drawn to this bikini (I wonder why!?) & we both decided that I NEEDED it. It has a great shape & the pinstripes are so cute. I also adore the chain detailing on the halter strap! I can imagine myself wearing this on a beach in Rio

It's uber affordable yet still really stylish. How HAWT is the one piece version!?:

Sailor One Piece- £42.50.

I decided to be good (for now) & just order the Sailor Bandeau Bikini & the Seafolly hat. I placed the order late Tuesday night, it was despatched on Wednesday & arrived on Thursday- awesome! Postage was only £1.99.

THE REVIEW:
The bikini has a fantastic fit. It's really comfy but better than that it's extremely flattering. Although it doesn't really have much padding in the top (by my standards- haha) it has sewn in cups that give the illusion of a great rack. The bikini bottoms are the selling point for me though. I always tend to go for huge pants but these are slightly smaller than usual and…I'm just going to say it, my butt looks fantastic!

I feel like I'll definitely be able to hold my own while mixing with the Brazilian beauties in Rio & Australian hotties in Sydney. Result.

So if you're in need of some new swimwear, make sure you check out Simply Beach's full range of swimwear. Bring on the summer! Stalk them on Twitter & Facebook for all their latest news, as well as giveaways.

Now I just have to decide on the other bikinis I NEED to take. What do you Rawrers think? Do you have any favourites? Help me pick more! ;)

It's a fact. T loves Simply Beach. XoX

Proud to Be British - Rawr for Kate!

It wouldn't be right if we let yesterday go by without a nod to our amazing new Duchess, Kate! We both had a tear in our eyes as she made her way to her Prince, and when William told her she looked beautiful, well...BLUB!!!

The McQueen dress by Sarah Burton was understated and super chic, those who said Kate didn't have the swagger to pull off McQ surely had their eyes wiped as Sarah produced an elegant but modern creation for our future Queen :) She looked truly stunning. Kate's sister Pippa also looked amazing in her maid of honour gown! Rawr girls had major figure envy!

The kiss on the balcony sealed the deal and we all LOVED their departure in the vintage Aston Martin (SO Austin Powers-esque!), check out the plate and balloons - cute!!

Finally, Kate's evening dress was again, gorgeous. Her tumbling curls and the adorable fluffy little shrug - we die!

What a wonderful day it was. Now if Harry could just hurry up and meet a nice girl we can get another party started!

What's Hawt? Charlotte Taylor!

I'm totally in love with Charlotte Taylor's designs. They remind me of the fun, bright Primp sweats from a Kitson time gone by but with a super chic, ladylike twist for right now. Charlotte's own blog is a great read, check it out at www.charlotte-taylor.blogspot.com where you can read all about her journey and ogle pics from her collections like these...

Her amazing printed silk shirts and scarves can be found online at Coggles and the Young British Designers webby, with prices starting at £40!

My fave piece is undoubtedly the Robot Print Shirt, £210 at Coggles.

The Silk Penguin Alice Skirt, £150 at Young British Designers, is a gorgeously flirty statement piece that I also adore!

Plus what's a summer picnic without a few ants? Let them run around your neck and not your food with this Ants scarf, £40 at Young British Designers.

As a grown up, I'm also really excited at the thought of Charlotte's prints running on limited edition wallpaper like the ants one you can see in the background of one of the pics above, what a feature wall that would make! Charlotte if you read this, my decorating dad will be happy to conduct any quality tests on a couple of rolls for you ;)

Charlotte Taylor designs peeps, we want it all over us.

Go-Go-Gadget SPANX Super Power Panties...Part Deux!

Tuesday 26 April 2011

Like J, I've always wondered if Control Pants really work! I've heard Gok go on about the importance of shapewear but I've never been sure if it would actually work for someone my size. My feelings started to change when I saw a picture of Kim Kardashian wearing a dress that exposed her Spanx...Super foxy Kim Kardashian wears Spanx!? I needed in on this.

When Tights Please told us they were sending us both a pair to review, it was like Christmas come early. When they finally arrived I could hardly contain my excitement & ripped the packet open. At first I was a bit dubious, I'd been sent a pair of Spanx that looked like would fit a small 4 year old. With one raised eyebrow, I thought 'If Kim can do it!' and shoved them on!

My Spanx-piration.

The main reason I wanted to try Spanx is because I've always been a huge fan of bodycon dresses. The only problem with being a huge fan of bodycon dresses is that I'm also a huge fan of food. There's no way I eat less if I go out for dinner while wearing one, so usually I just end up with a huge food baby- which is so uncool!

I figured the best way to test them out would be to eat a good sized meal. 2 (HUGE) Fajitas, 1 bottle of Cider (ooooh arrrr!) & 1 healthy portion of Chocolate Roulade later...

BEFORE Spanx:

AFTER Spanx:

What a difference!?

When you're wearing them they feel like they are gently hugging you & sucking in your lumps & bumps- I love them. I have a smaller bum but most importantly, a noticeably smaller tummy! Yes, they've passed the food test with flying colours ;) I really can't believe they are only £28.

Do as the Rawr Girls & celebs do...Rock the Control Pants! I think Kim Kardashian would be proud, don't you!? ;) T XoX

Go-Go-Gadget SPANX Super Power Panties!

Spanx Panties have always intrigued me. You see them peeking out from under Beyonce's and Eva Longoria's red carpet dresses or hear rumours that Anne Hathaway rocked them all the way through filming The Devil Wears Prada, and obviously you wonder if they are really that good right? So when Tights Please asked us if we wanted to review the new Spanx Super Power Panties - normally £28, of course we bit their hands off!

These modern girdles claim to '...feature a tummy taming panel, patented leg band which prevents bulges on thighs, compression zones which help target the right places and a sleek cling free finish...' - well we'll see shall we?!

Choosing your size is easy using the special height/weight chart...

I quickly figured out I would be a size B and Tights Please sent me this very attractive pair in Nude ;)

After BF and I had a good giggle over how incredibly small they look fresh out of the packet (we compared the size of them to our Build-A-Bear's tiny camo's!), I ran upstairs to squeeze into them and choose a suitably tight dress to test drive them underneath (I grabbed a stretchy lycra affair that I wouldn't normally wear sans oversized shirt or cardi!), and here are the results...

BEFORE SPANX.... Here I am wearing a normal everyday thong underneath. You can see where it cuts into my less than Fergilicious erm, 'abs' which causes an unsightly pot belly appearance. Ugh. I also noted how flat my butt looks and that the front of my thighs pop out a little, again, ughhhhh....

AFTER SPANX.... This pic actually shocked me. My tummy looks totally flat and toned, I can't stop looking at it! I also noticed that my behind has a much stronger line and looks lifted, whilst my thighs and hips don't seem to be stretching the dress material so much. I guess those compression zones do work after all! Wow.

I'm totally converted to SPANX shapewear. I'm a curvy UK12 and my midriff muscle tone isn't great but I felt really contained and controlled in these pants, yet still able to breathe! Whilst at first you may gulp at spending so much ££ on such a (let's be honest) UGLY pair of knicks, think about the confidence they are likely to give you and how much better you could look in that dress or skirt! Now, do SPANX make these things for the tops of your arms?....

BIG thanks to Tights Please for showing me the SPANX way!

J - Compressed and Impressed.

I LOVE discovering hawt new jewellery designers. A few weeks ago I stumbled across Annie Haak via Twitter & instantly fell in love with Annie Haak Designs!

Annie Haak Designs is inspired by the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia. They have a passion for creating gorgeous sterling silver jewellery that is effortless to wear and makes you feel amazing everyday.

As if by fate, I recently won one of Annie's Twitter giveaways! EEEK! I literally couldn't contain my excitement & days later the most beautiful bracelet arrived:

Frangipani Silver Tassel Bracelet- £148.

Annie very kindly customised the size of the bracelet for me, so that it would fit my small wrists (but still have enough room for it to jangle around a bit)! I've already had tons of compliments on it, isn't it gorgeous!?

Men's Kayu Silver and Wood Tiger Tooth Necklace- £118.

I know my boyfriend would love this necklace (& I'd love to borrow it!).

Each piece of jewellery is lovingly handmade in their studio in Surrey and bears their signature 3-heart sterling silver charm- the mark of an original Annie Haak Design.

Tali Sterling Silver, Cord and Silk Friendship Bracelets, As seen in LOOK- £29.

This bracelet is uber cool, I really need one! They look so fab when stacked.

Work Custom Jeans Fall 2011 Lookbook - RAWR denim heaven!

Sunday 24 April 2011

Work Custom Jeans have been on our radar for a few years now. Effortlessly fusing cool denim, secsi shapes and edgy details obviously makes them a RAWR fave, yet still they elude our wardrobes. True, this tardiness is mainly due to the lack of UK stockists and those pesky customs and excise peeps, but now we have a WCJ stockist here in the form of The Raw Denim Bar - hurrah! And with this piece of good news, we bring you the Fall 2011 lookbook, 'tis a beautiful thing. Styled with Jeffrey Campbell Foxy's and Snick's, on a gorgeous shapely model (a girl can't be a stick to work WCJ's!), this lookbook isn't helping to wane our desire for this brand anytime soon. And neither are the amazing shorts and faux leather skirt on show - siiiiiighhh....

For those of you who are international, you might want to check out the Work Custom Jeans range on Couture Candy who have a quite frankly RIDIC amount of WCJ styles in stock!

You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter, they are lovely people and like nothing more than a good denim chat, so if you do too they're definitely worth a follow!

Gold Saturn - RAWR.

We adore Gold Saturn here and loved seeing last season's collection appear on www.spoiledbrat.co.uk so we could get our paws on it easily here in UK, but now the new season has hit the GS store in all it's summery goodness, and we're salivating again!

The Tusk Studded Turband, $48.

The Nude Studded Turband, $48.

The Python Turband in nude/camel (also available in blue/brown), $40.

These turbands look SO good on long, untamed locks, and are also a cool way to sort out a bad hair day, or perfect for festival wear when you're on that 3rd day and dry shampoo just isn't cutting it! RAWR girls have a Gold Saturn limited edition Valentines turband, and can guarantee it's yumminess!

Gold Saturn is also stocked at Karmaloop :)

J - waiting for my hair to grow!

Tis' a Rare thing to be this pretty!

Rare Fashion is a brand close to my heart. We both have roots in Liverpool, and I remember buying a dress from their first Topshop concession in the city; a little black stretch sweater number with detachable sleeves that were buckled on. I ADORED that dress, and together we partied through the early noughties! These days, Rare is still producing gorgeous, individual pieces, and I still love them! Here are a few of my fave pieces from the latest collection....

This Embroidered Cut Out Peter Pan Dress £42, is so pretty and perfect for summer parties. Loving the mexicana feel to the colours of the embroidery contrasting with the cream chiffon.

These Folk Belted Shorts £35, look like they came straight out of my mum's AMAZING 70's wardrobe, they're so cute and would be perfect for this summer's festivals!

These Pleated Chiffon Culottes £42, are so chic. I'm not massively keen on the current chiffon pleated trousers trend because I personally think they look a bit much, buuuuuuut the culottes length almost looks like a skirt, but with the cool edge of trousers! Still following? Check it!

And the gold studs against this sunny coral colour of the Chiffon Stud Dress £36, are a hot touch.

I would totally fill my summer closet with Rare; pretty but secsi, girly with an edge. 10 years on from that first LBD, I'm still a fan and always will be!

J - Rare-ly wrong ;)
