RAWRs with CARRIE MAC!!

RAWR Girls are super excited to present an interview with Carrie Mac, a hot young singer/songwriter! Carrie is 23 and hails from beautiful Edinburgh, Scotland. Her amazing debut single, 'Till I See You Again' is released on May 1st, and everytime we see the vid played on Chart Show TV, we literally squee for her! Check it out here, but watch out, it's catchy ;)


We were lucky enough to catch Carrie, fresh from supporting Alexandra Burke (cue X Factor voice) on her UK tour, to get quizzical about her status as a pop star stroke fashionista extraordinaire. As you can see, interviewers to the stars is just another string to the RAWR bow ;)...

RAWR - Hellooooo Carrie! SO. Introduce us to Carrie Mac's style; describe your look in 5 words!
Carrie - Quirky, feminine, sassy, cool, fun.

RAWR - We noticed quite a few cute little dresses and an adorable ‘Carrie’ necklace in your video for the single ‘Till I See You Again’, which piece from the shoot was your favourite?
Carrie - Aww thankyou! All the clothes from the video shoot were my own except for the white tennis dress. I love the short retro blue dress with red and white stripes at the bottom of it and it came with a cute love heart belt! I got it from Joy.

RAWR - You look amazing in the video for your single. Whose music video styling right now do you admire?
Carrie - Im a huge fan of Katy Perry's styling in her videos as she mixes it up everytime and always looks effortlessly beautiful! Also I'm loving Rihanna's clothes in her videos at the moment, they are so colourful and feminine, and I love this look!


RAWR - There was a very cute guy in the ‘Till I See You Again’ video, but given the choice of any hottie in the world, who would you be singing to in your next one?
Carrie - Ohh if I had the choice it would have to be Ryan Reynolds! I love him!! Although I dont know if I would be able to concentrate with him in the same room as me! I'd probably just stare at him all the time!

RAWR - Do you think your style has changed as your career has progressed and do you ever see yourself arriving at the BRITS in an egg whilst wearing a haggis dress?
Carrie - Hahahaha who knows what the future will hold? I hear haggis is in this season! Yes, I think it has changed as when I started out I wasnt so aware of what I was wearing, more just concentrating on the music but now I'm much more into what I wear on stage and I love clothes and like to play about with different looks!

RAWR - Who is your fashion/style icon and why?
Carrie - I have a few style icons, Katy Perry is definitely one. I love Diana Vickers' clothes and I absolutely adore Zooey Deschanel and Sienna Miller. I think these women all have a great sense of style and really know what suits them! They are all very feminine and when they dress up really stand out from the crowd but they also do the off duty look perfectly!


RAWR - Which Spring/Summer 2011 trend do you love, and which one makes you cringe?
Carrie - I love all the ladylike dresses and that stripes are in! I love anything stripey!! I'm not a huge fan of tassles or wide length trousers and those baggy pant type things.

RAWR - What is your favourite item in your wardrobe right now?
Carrie - Favourite item in my wardrobe right now has to be my Irregular Choice ice-cream shoes!! I absolutely love them, they are so quirky! I have hardly anything that goes with them but I love them so much that I'm willing to clash!!!

RAWR - Want to share any Carrie Mac fashion disasters from the past? Obviously there are no recent ones to speak of but we all lived through the nineties here so ‘fess up!
Carrie - Ohh where do I start??!! Well I went through a stage of matching EVERYTHING from my eyeshadow to my hairbands. I also went through the stage of crop tops and would show my stomach all the time!! Leg warmers, headbands, awful stilleto heels...I could go on!! But even though I looked awful, at the time I thought I looked amazing and I like looking back, I'm happy I had the guts to wear some of the stuff I did!

Carrie - Just Dance as I'm rubbish at Singstar (we doubt that Carrie!).

RAWR - And finally, an oldie but a goodie; you’re stranded on a desert island, what 3 things would you need with you till we saw you again? See what we did there? Move over Alexa Chung.
Carrie - Haha I like it!! Ahem, I would need - my iPod, guitar and writing notebook so I could write you a song for when you came back to rescue me!!
