Track Pants You Don't Run From...

Monday 6 September 2010

I've always enjoyed a nice track pant, though I'm not talking Nike or even Adidas here (but I do love the Firebirds) - we're talking dressed up cool here. Teamed with heels rather than trainers, the right colour and cut of jersey can look SO right on a woman's frame. I've rocked this look for years, from the heady days of clubbing at Cream in some purple satin Miss Sixty hipsters (I know), to always returning to my wardrobe for the eternally effortless chic of L.A.M.B. terrys circa 2005, and now the track pant is making a comeback for A/W10 (no doubt a natural progression from summer's harem styles).

Here are my top picks if you feel like taking lounging to another level ;)

See By Chloe Button Fastening Track Pants £190, Net-A-Porter. I love these, I'm a sucker for grey marl anyway but the silhouette of these is just.so.cool.

Cargo Utility Joggers £32, Topshop. Put two pairs of bang on trend trousers in my wardrobe? Not me, I just combine, and go! Yes, skinny cargo tracks. Topshop, we salute you ;)

Beige Leopard Print Jogger Bottoms £26.99, River Island. Now normally, I would be chomping at the bit to have these, but I've been there with a pair already and you have to have some serious Blanche Golden Girl-esque SASS to pull these bad boys off and come out with your cool points intact. By all means be my guest, and if you find a way to do it without feeling like something isn't quite right, then I need to hear about it!

The Sweat Dungaree Pants $75, Cheap Monday at Karmaloop. I LOVE these, I think I may need them in my life.

House Of Holland Sweat Pant with Bandana Print £200, ASOS. Now these are really quite swanky and I am VERY keen, nice work Mr Holland!

And last but not least, back to basics (using the term loosely here!) with these Drawstring Joggers £105 from T By Alexander Wang at Selfridges. Classic and chic, so even when this look goes out of style, you can still take these babies to the gym and not feel like Mr Motivator :)

So that's track joggers for winter, what's your style? Don't run from them, work with them!

  1. My favourite are the House of Holland ones - shame they're the most expensive! x
