What's Hawt? Chelsea Boots!
I recently bought a pair of these Dr Martens Darla boots, I'd kinda liked them for a while but Docs had never been my thing so I was fighting my own style instinct (which is rarely a good thing). Anyway I gave in and ordered them from Cloggs, and I LOVE them, so shiny, stompy and yes, comfortable *rolls eyes*. Anyway, since I got them I've noticed a sudden rush of them in stores and on celebs so I figure my style instinct was right after all and settled down to investigate further........
Firstly, Rochelle from The Saturdays is wearing my actual boots for the T4 On The Beach performance, but in the matte cherry red, while the other Sats wore the lace up Dr Martens Darcie's instead. Go Docs!
River Island and Schuh are both stocking the heeled Docs right now, I predict a rush for the red ones, particularly the Darla chelsea boot style, mainly because I have them and I'd like to think I'm ahead of the game lol ;)
If you like your Chelsea's a little more feminine, New Look have a great little pair for £60, available in black and this sweet pale tan.
Kurt Geiger have a quirky take on the Chelsea style, the Winslow boot still rocks the traditional elasticated side panels but has a buckle strap and sits on a funky wedge heel, £130 here.
On a grander scale, both Prada and Balenciaga have shown Chelsea boots for Fall 2010.
The Balenciaga Arena boot at £495 doesn't come cheap but these are the androgynous classics baby; no heels, no platforms, these would be in your wardrobe for literally years. Find them at Matches.
Prada's are a little bit sexier, a chunky platform boot with a stacked heel, pre order from Saks at approx £425.
I'm super happy with my Docs, even if I am getting a side eye from BF who isn't used to me stomping around with vigour, but hey darling - it's Vogue!
