Anita Moore Designs - Inspirational Cool.

Monday 19 July 2010

Talented actress and singer Dominique Anita Moore is only 24 yet she's managed to fit so much into her career; a role in Footballer's Wives: Extra Time, appearing in various CBBC and Disney Channel shows - most recently 'Hotel Trubble', comedy sketches in 'Little Miss Jocelyn', rather amazingly appearing on stage as Nala in The Lion King AND recognition as a positive female role model by The Observer! Dominique has now turned her passion for achievement into a fashion label 'Anita Moore Designs' designing tees, sweats and dancewear for men, women and kids, and I just love the inspirational messages that go into it.

Dominique explains the idea behind the line on her website here. She says, 'I love designing and everything i create is reflective of my personality. I love the colour pink, not only does it cheer me up it makes me feel confident and brightens my day so i called this range "In Pink" so everyone else can feel confident and cheery everytime they wear one of my designs. Ive incorporated Braille onto the left sleeve of each Tee for anyone who is visually impaired, so they can also benefit from the statements on the Tees. Each statement is something I always say or believe. I want anyone reading it to know that the person wearing the Tee is happy with who they are and will not change for anyone!'

It's such an AMAZING idea to put braille on fashion tops with slogans and I'm so pleased that celebs are picking up on Anita Moore Designs and promoting Dominique's idea! These are 3 of my fave designs, all available at Spoiled Brat :)

The Limited Edition Hollywood Tee, £37.99 from Spoiled Brat. The braille on the sleeve reads the same as the slogan on the chest :)

The Red Paint Hoodie, £53.99 from Spoiled Brat. As seen on Hollyoaker Dominique Jackson, the braille on the sleeve reads 'In Pink'.

The I Refuse To Be Grounded Tee, £41.99 from Spoiled Brat. This one has been seen on Rochelle from The Saturdays and again, the braille on the sleeve reflects the slogan, so cute.

It really is such an inspirational approach to design, I particularly love that it carries over to the kids line, featuring awesome slogans that are perfect for the little ones like 'I can be anything I want' which are then brailled onto the sleeve. See the kids range at Spoiled Brat here. This is definitely something we should be seeing more of in fashion, huge snaps to Dominique :)

Dominique's line will have a stand at the Britains Next Top Model Live event in London in October which is exciting, for details of the event take a peek here!

In the meantime, go grab yourself one of her designs from Spoiled Brat, or Dominique's own webby here!

J - wondering what 'Destined for something more glamorous than this' looks like in braille.....
