Who Wins The Style Rawr World Cup?!

Tuesday 8 June 2010

So, this is going to look like a really girly thing to do, but I assure you a stylish kit is a big part of a successful World Cup campaign (think of how much kerching an offical kit generates in sales!), so I thought it would be fun to do a rundown of the Top 10 Stylish World Cup 2010 Football Kits (cue Top of The Pops music)!

At #10 we have our very own England!

Our brave lions don a traditional red & white Umbro kit that could quite frankly be a lot more stylish in my opinion.
It is patriotic though, and this time the nod to the retro look does give it a bit of an edge but still...could do better.

Buy the full England kit for all the family here at Kitbag, prices start at £9.99 for socks.

At #9 we have sunny Portugal!

Home of the 'winker' Ronaldo, and rocking a cool white, green and red Nike away kit.
I like the away kit more than the home kit, which is mainly red. The green shorts pop against their hot Portugese tanned thighs (sorry, bit of 'girl' slipped out there!).

You can buy both Portugal kits here at Kitbag, prices start at £19.99 for shorts.

At #8 we have Italy! Looking hot but cool in a tight fitting blue Puma ensemble, yum. You can buy the Italy kit here at Kitbag, prices start at £8.99 for socks!

Next up at #7 is Holland/Netherlands!
Their Nike home kit is a striking orange and black, are they trying to intimidate the other teams with warning colours a la Mother Nature? Whatever the intention, it works for me! You can buy the Holland kit here at Kitbag, prices start at £16.99 for kids shorts.

At #6, #5 and #4 I'm throwing in the Puma triple threat that is Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Ghana. Check these bad boys out, so adorable! Ultimately, out of the 3, my fave is the Cameroon kit with the cool rasta style colourway, it's fun and a little saucy ;) Buy all 3 kits here at Kitbag, prices start at £44.99 for a shirt.

At #3 we have Brazil! There is no doubt that they are a talented team of men, but dayam do these boys have style too, both on the pitch and in their kit! Nike put together a yellow and blue ensemble that should clash like England v Argentina, but instead it gives them an air of 'No-one on the corner has swagger like us'. Hot. Buy the Brazil kit here at Kitbag, prices start at £8.99 for socks.

Just missing out on the top spot at #2 is Spain! Adidas have Spain rocking a multicoloured kit of red, blue and yellow/orange that is as easy on the eye as the red blooded men playing in it! I love a bit of colour, and you can't get much more in a football kit that in this one. It looks playful, yet stylish. If only Adidas would take over England's kit.....Buy the Spain kit at here at Kitbag, prices starting at just £9.99 for socks!

And finally for #1!....

Quite deservingly in at #1 is the frankly AMAZEBALLS African Unity kit!
This kit was made specially by Puma to celebrate the Fifa World Cup coming to South Africa, designed to promote harmony across the continent, this individual kit comes complete with the crests of all 9 African Football Federations enabling the wearer to iron on the nation of their choice, awwww!
I just love the colours used in this kit! The blue represents the clear blue skies over Africa, which then fade into the brown which represents the African plains which is taken into the block colour of the shorts. I mean seriously, if anyone can rock a sweet ombre fade, it should be the host nation! I would be happy for my BF to buy this football top to actually wear as opposed to actually playing sports in, it represents such a lot and Puma have done a great job! You can buy this kit here at Kitbag, prices start at £9.99 for the socks!

So there you have it, whoever wins the actual tournament, these ten teams can be proud and safe in the knowledge that they went in strutting and looking fabulous, and we all know that if you look hot, you can get away with just about anything hee hee ;)
